As a frontend engineer, **you will design, build, and test new features for users**. We are a very small team currently and you will have the unique chance to become heavily involved in the core of our product development and vision. You are a leader from day one!

You will translate business needs into working software by taking ownership of the entire software life cycle – design, development, test, release and maintenance (end-to-end). You will also focus on improving Along’s performance and reliability by building new features or polishing parts of the product as we gather feedback and learnings from users.

You will work closely with a small core product team to co-create and execute on the roadmap for **Along**. As a founding team member, you will help influence product and design direction through instrumenting experiments, owning product improvements, and leading larger feature initiatives.

_This role is hybrid (ideally located in Berlin) and needs to be within +/- 2h of the EU time zone._

## Tasks

*   Contributing to the end-to-end software development on all relevant software platforms within Along, as well as other software development-related tasks with direct reporting to our founders and technical team
*   Contributing to the maintenance of Along's software products and technologies, including tasks related to technology deployment, integration, configuration, troubleshooting and error resolution
*   Upholding Along's standards on customer centricity by building software with end users in mind and helping towards building the best experience for users through user testing and customer support/service management
*   Upholding Along's standards on agility and co-creation by contributing towards agile ways of working through participation in sprint ceremonies and collaborating with product and design team members

## Requirements

*   3+ years of working experience as a front-end software engineer working in a team contributing to a production codebase
*   A solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (design patterns, data structures and algorithms) and software development lifecycle (version control, test automation, etc.)
*   Experience building web applications working in close collaboration with product & design
*   Fluent in working with Javascript/Typescript, CSS and React to deliver beautiful frontend applications
*   Experience with software development frameworks such as React and Next.js
*   Familiarity with cloud infrastructure services like Firebase and CI/CD tools like GitHub
*   Proactive communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative environment
*   An interest in learning from others and digging into new challenges
*   An inclusive and collaborative attitude towards building features, solving problems, and growing teams
