Algoan is the leading credit decisioning platform for financial institutions in Europe. Banks, neobanks, lenders, and BNPL players use our APIs to collect open banking data, assess creditworthiness and affordability, and make faster, smarter lending decisions from the first data collection to the final credit score. We sit at the heart of the credit underwriting process for some of the most demanding financial players on the market such as Revolut, American Express, Crédit Agricole Personal Finance & Mobility or Cofidis.
As a Product Manager at Algoan, you’ll own a product scope end-to-end: from understanding customer problems to shipping features that matter, including the messy parts. This is not a coordination role. You’ll be close to the code, close to the customer, and close to the data.
You’ll lead a small squad of engineers day-to-day, coordinating delivery and making sure the team is working on the right things. You’ll collaborate closely with our Data Science team on the analytical layer, work with Design on the user experience, and be in regular contact with Sales, Ops, and customers directly.
This is a hands-on role with full product ownership from day one. You’ll shape not just features, but how we build product at Algoan.
We’re a small team. That means real ownership, fast feedback loops, and work that directly shapes the company.
Tasks
- Spec, design and ship features: from discovery through delivery, with full accountability over outcomes
- Lead a small engineering squad: coordinate delivery, unblock the team, and make sure everyone is working on what matters most
- Be the primary product contact for customers: run demos, lead onboarding calls, and handle support escalations hands-on
- Build and maintain your own analytics: track product usage, detect issues, and drive decisions from data
- Investigate technical issues independently: dive into logs, traces and API behavior, including making direct API calls to reproduce or validate behavior, before looping in Engineering
- Collaborate with Data Science: define requirements, validate models, and translate analytical outputs into product features
- Write clear documentation: make complex API concepts accessible for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Own your roadmap and prioritisation: working closely with Engineering, Data, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing
Requirements
3+ years of experience as a Product Manager, ideally in a B2B or API-driven product environment.
- Technically hands-on. You’re not afraid of a terminal, a log explorer, or an API spec. You understand how REST APIs work, can read API documentation, and are comfortable making calls yourself using tools like Postman or curl. You can navigate Datadog and dig into issues on your own.
- Customer-facing by nature. Not just ‘stakeholder management’, real conversations where you demo the product, onboard new clients, and handle difficult support situations with calm and clarity.
- Experienced with B2B products. You’ve delivered API or platform features in a lean environment and know what it means to wear multiple hats.
- Comfortable leading a squad. You’ve coordinated or led a small team of developers, you know how to unblock people, run a good sprint, and keep delivery on track without being the tech lead.
- Data-driven. You define your own success metrics, build dashboards, and let data challenge your assumptions, not just validate them.
- Working with AI on a daily basis. You have integrated it into your processes, and are looking to harness its full potential to improve the quality of your deliverables
- Clear communicator. In writing, in meetings, in product specs. Both in French and English.
- Radically accountable. You own outcomes, not outputs. You don’t wait to be asked, you see something wrong, you fix it.
BONUS:
- Experience in open banking, credit, lending, or financial services
- You’ve built internal tooling, written SQL, or worked closely with Data Science teams
- Experience at a startup between Seed and Series B
