Spot the difference

Writing job ads is hard work, especially now we’re living within such a fast paced and exponential society. What’s the difference between an Auditor and a Controller, anyway? Don’t a Financial Advisor and a Financial Analyst do practically the same tasks? Getting your job ad wrong can cost you a lot of time and effort in the long run, make sure you get it right.

In short, an ERO keeps everyone happy, HR Managers steer your people's ship, Onboarding cares about first impressions, Talent Officer finds good people and Payroll does the compensation.

  • The Employee Relations Officer deals with relationship management and conflict resolutions, they try to keep everyone happy and working together in the most efficient way.
  • The Human Resources Manager looks after the people and processes within an organisation, they are your overall manager with anything people related and are usually everyone at the company's go to.
  • Onboarding Specialist - ensures that new starters begin comfortably and successfully and work on improving the experience for them. They usually work in the long term and look after people from day one up until 6 months or a year.
  • The Talent Officer supports in finding those new starters and great talent, they act like your headhunters.
  • The Payroll Officer deals with finances and ensures each employee is paid in the right way.

Job Ad Template

  • Be clear in your description. Know the tasks of the role and ideally who the candidate should be.
  • This means you won’t need to read through too many CVs to find your superstar.

· Support the Human Resources and People teams by giving them guidance and support in development opportunities.
· Take ownership of the employee relations processes and initiatives.
· Optimise our current procedures in supporting the business areas and ensure a smooth and consistent employee experience throughout the company.
· Ensure compliance with policies and use easy to understand reporting.
· Develop concepts and guidelines for employee cooperation and advise management on law issues.
· Offer counselling sessions to employees and oversee orientation and training.
· Be the first point of contact for liaising between management and employees.
· Identify sources of issues and misunderstandings throughout the company and work to implement more effective solutions.
