THE ROLE

As a Manager Datacenter and Infrastructure, you should be passionate about all areas of data center infrastructure and networking. You will be a leader within a dynamic team of experts in support of the company’s streaming services. With your team, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining and developing our Datacenters, Server and Network Infrastructure, and conducting projects to extend capacity and connectivity. You will play a key role in ensuring the stable operation of our services, scaling our infrastructure, and optimizing our network.

Last but not least, you can play a key role in helping to transition our services to carbon-neutrality and allow us to fully live up to our core value of Sustainability, by identifying CO2 emitters and finding alternative solutions in hosting, powering, and distribution.

THE TEAM

At Zattoo we are building the TV platform of the future. We are looking for a Manager Datacenter and Infrastructure to join our growing Operations team. We control the whole IPTV chain from satellite and Multicast ingest through hosting hundreds of servers, petabyte-scale storage and Tbps-scale streaming over our own network and CDN. There are many exciting areas to work on and to push TV to a new level.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Leading a team of 4 engineers responsible for data center and network services
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure sustainable service delivery
• Operation, maintenance and renewal of the entire high-availability datacenter infrastructure
• Be involved in choosing general hardware choices
• Together with the team plan our network and security equipment and related services
• Manage external supplier relationship
• Manage and deliver mid-size projects
• Work with the SRE, Video and Dev teams to define and document standards and architectures

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 5+ years managing network or datacenter engineering teams
• 10+ years working in Internet related fields - e.g. Telecom, CDN, Streaming
• Extensive experience with Data Center operations and planning
• In-depth understanding of CDN concepts
• Experience in selecting, testing, and deploying hardware
• Knowledgeable in network engineering procedures, best practices, and implementation of network documentation and diagramming
• Willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize projects according to organizational direction
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple teams

• Bonus:

  • Linux experience
  • Juniper or Cisco IOS-XR expertise
  • Interest in or experience with sustainable data center operation
