Head of Science - LCA Expert (full/part-time)

In the role of our Head of Science in the LCA area, you will be responsible for growing our existing team of LCA experts while bringing your know-how to the product development team that combines scientific methods with user needs and a digital experience.

Own the methodology

• Consolidate requirements across stakeholders and science to decide on the most useful methodological approach
• Expand the methodology at core and address new verticals and categories
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory developments
• Expand your network to stay up to date on evolving standards and frameworks

Be the expert driving our product development

• Work in tandem with the product team to shape the software direction.
• Influence and guide the selection of feature concepts within the product.
• Determine strategic implications and make informed decisions on trade-offs

Collaborate to drive growth

• Explore use cases with our customers and partners
• Identify lean solutions to address our customers' challenges
• Work closely with sales and marketing to ensure the best product pitch

In addition, you are asked to support our thought leadership by writing methodology updates, building partnerships and engaging in relevant communities.

• You have extensive experience in the ecological/carbon accounting space, explicitly in the field of LCAs / EPDs / PCFs
• Knowledge of relevant methodologies, current state of science and regulatory initiatives
• Ability to breakdown theoretical frameworks and scientific concepts into execution
• Experience with complex data analysis
• Aspiration to develop an outstanding, impact-first product based on a customer-centric mindset
• Capable of working under high uncertainty in a just evolving market and within startup structures
• Understand how modern technology can be used to enhance and scale lifecycle assessments
• Reliable and trustworthy workstyle as well as hands-on mentality
• Strong sense of accountability and ownership
• Fluency in English

We are located in Hamburg, but we promote a hybrid company setup so this job could be done fully or partly remotely (within CET timezone) - in those setups we ensure regular travel for on-site meetings. However, any applicant needs to already have an EU residency and working permit.
