Aufgaben
A Senior Hydroinformatics Engineer(m/f/d) is a multidisciplinary engineer with optimization and hydraulic modeling skills and a passion for using data to improve urban watershed environmental and social impact. This position is focused on development and implementation of algorithms and analytics for operational optimization of water and wastewater systems. The primary focus will be on Treatment System Optimization, which is a Xylem platform that optimize the operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants, with the application of Artificial Intelligence by means of Machine Learning models and Optimization techniques.

Complete understanding and wide application of technical principals, theories, and concepts in the field of data analytics, optimization and process control engineering
Autonomously develops, deploys and maintains models for standard and special projects
Identifies opportunities and proposes modifications to existing guidelines and processes
Identifies and implements projects specific workflows to optimize cross-team collaboration
Oversees the activities of Engineers and review the technical deliverables
Develop and manage large datasets. Communicate summaries and conclusions drawn from data in clear and concise ways, visually and verbally.
Translate data analytics into language understood by water resource engineers and data analysts, both in the practitioner and research space
Qualifikation
Undergraduate degree in Engineering or related field, preference given to those with Master’s or PhD degrees
5-8+ years of experience of inter-disciplinary research or project work with multiple different engineering or science disciplines
Minimum of 2 years of experience in water related projects
Fluentin German and English
Proficient of software languages such as Python, R, C++, Matlab
Advanced knowledge of data filtering process, such as anomaly detection
Advanced knowledge of data-driven models, such as machine learning
Advanced knowledge of optimization process, such as genetic algorithms
Familiar with data connections to SCADA systems, such as OPC
Able to lead scrum processes, using Xylem tools such as Jira
Familiar with databases (InfluxDB, PostgreSQL, …) is a plus
Familiar with hydraulic models of waste water networks or treatment systems is a plus
