We are looking for an outstanding individual who will join our team as a Regional Sales Manager - Turkey & MENA to work closely with the Founders and a motivated team to join an exciting fast growing start-up at an early stage.

The role will initially be based in Berlin with potential for relocation to Turkey.

Tasks

What are your responsibilities?

As Regional Sales Manager, your responsibilities will be to develop and execute a data-backed, country strategy to win in the Turkey & MENA market and become the most important digital player in the steel market in the region. Your first tasks will be to:

  • Be a trusted partner to the Founders on all aspects of the region, including but not limited to developing an ambitious supplier and buyer acquisition strategy, growing the customer network, account management as well as increasing trading volumes and revenues
  • Represent Vanilla Steel at industry events in the region
  • Make outbound prospecting campaigns (emails, cold / hot calls, social selling, field visits, events visit) to generate leads in the region
  • Convert leads into sales; ensure high quality interaction with potential sellers and buyers on the platform
  • Identify local market product needs
  • Structure the sales operations and processes (customer database, customer onboarding, CRM reporting)
  • Support the operational activities of the trading platform (prepare transactional data and order confirmations)

Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • At least 2 years of experience in the metals industry in Turkey & MENA
  • Initial experience in delivering sales as an steel agent or steel trader
  • Ambitious, results-oriented and target-driven mentality
  • Strong quantitative skills, structured thinking and hands-on attitude
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using large databases (Google-Suite, CRMs and LinkedIn)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Business proficiency in English and Turkish; proficiency in Arabic would be a plus
