Solas Capital AG is an investment advisor founded by a leading team of sustainable finance investment professionals with experience in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy and infrastructure finance. Solas Capital’s goal is to support society’s transition to a carbon neutral economy by developing and managing sustainable finance products that have a double bottom-line investment objective. Located in Zurich, the company has a European outreach. To support the company's growth and launch of a new European sustainable energy fund focusing on energy efficiency projects, we are looking to fill the role of Sustainable Energy Investment Associate/Manager.
Tasks
- manage the end-to-end transaction process i.e. term-sheet drafting, credit risk assessment, managing third-party due diligence incl. drafting and execution of transaction documents, writing IC memos
- work closely with investment managers in project origination
- support client relationship management with project partners
- co-ordinate with the portfolio management function
Requirements
Candidates must have:
- a track record in the renewables, infrastructure or energy investment field or a related sector (preferably 3+ years of relevant work experience)
- hands-on experience in transaction execution and investment/project due diligence
- experience in managing third-party advisors
- strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build external relationships with stakeholders
- good project management capabilities
- problem-solving mindset
- ability to work independently, and take initiative
- interest and enthusiasm for sustainability and climate impact finance
- fluency in English and preferably business proficiency in a second European language
- third-level degree or masters
- Swiss work permit or EU citizenship
Candidates may also have:
- relevant industry network to energy service companies, law firms and advisors
- sound knowledge of project finance debt/bonds, private debt, or real asset alternative investments
- Management Consultant or other relevant experience in the energy industry
- strong interest in transforming the energy system through decentralized renewable generation and energy efficiency solutions
