Teamlead Embedded Development (m/f/d)

We are smartmicro, leading specialist in high performance automotive and traffic
radar sensor technology. We design, develop and manufacture high performance
radar sensors for autonomous driving and for intelligent traffic infrastructure
and smart cities. Our mission is to make roads safer, to enable autonomous

Our portfolio of smart sensors ranges from high-end radar sensors over hybrid sensors (radar and camera), mutli-sensor fusion to complete smart city systems improving traffic flow and thus reducing pollution.

We’re looking for a leader/manager in our Embedded Software department, who will
drive the development of our embedded software technology and contribute to cutting edge solutions for radar systems. You work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders. The goal is to doubling this team size in the next 2 years with us when we take this company to the next level.

• You will lead a team of approximately 30 embedded software developers in the following areas:

  • Platform Activation (BSP) development

  • Bare-metal base software for application teams

  • Embedded Linux development

  • Embedded Linux application and middleware development

  • Automated system testing

  • Developer operations

• You coordinate projects and tasks between the department groups
• In cooperation with the gruop leaders you develop team bonding and spirit
• You are responsible for providing technical guidance, advice and motivation to team members
• It is important that you understand and ensure customer requirements and direct them to the application teams
• You will perform continuous quality checks to meet the defined time and targets
• You develop the maintenance of the software testing process
• As teamlead you will be in close contact with the CEO and report to him

• Successfully completed studies in the field of (electrical) engineering, computer science or technology
• Deep understanding of embedded hardware and ability to write testable, robust embedded application software
• Social and leadership skills coupled with a high degree of flexibility
• Excellent communication skills, able to take on mentoring roles and organize feedback
• Teamwork mindset
• Strong experience in: Embedded Linux, Continuous integration and continuous delivery, Software architecture and Agile development
• Experience in the domain of systems with functional safety requirements
• Fluent German and English language skills (both oral and written)
