Event Operations Manager

The Flussbad Campus in Berlin is a home for adventurous culture & ideas. Beginning its phased opening in 2023, the campus encompasses exhibition spaces, gastronomy, creative studios and workspaces, holistic health offerings.

Reethaus marks the opening of the campus and is a semi-subterranean performance space inspired by ancient temples—all integrated into the wild riverfront environment. With an in-built 360-degree spatial sound system it creates the ideal conditions for experiential installations, mind-body practice, holistic learning, and artistic performance drawn from Berlin’s rich cultural scene.

For the opening of Reethaus in September 2023, we are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Events Operations Manager to facilitate our artistic & intellectual program as well as private & corporate events. As the operational lead of this year-round program of classes, workshops, talks, retreats and social gatherings, you will bring together our network of hoteliers and hospitality professionals to discuss the best new ideas in health, design, travel, retail, technology and beyond.

You should be able to prioritize work, build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders and communicate effectively across the organization. Tasks:

• Fully responsible for planning, preparation, and execution of Flussbad events, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction during all stages.
• Lead event staff, including servers, bartenders, housekeepers, and security personnel.
• Work with F&B Director to development and improve the F&B offering.
• Work closely with caterer to ensure comprehensive planning and execution of all events.
• Coordinate with event planners, vendors, and clients to ensure all logistical requirements are met, including set up, audiovisual equipment, and catering.
• Ensure staffing levels, training and schedule are met.
• Manage technical equipment and oversee its adequate use at all times.
• Manage event budgets, including labor costs, supplies, and equipment rentals, and provide regular reports to management.
• Resolve any issues that arise during events, such as equipment malfunctions, guest complaints, or scheduling conflicts.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling, fire safety, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain a positive and professional image of the event space and company.
• Recognize industrial processes, equipment, and materials that have the potential to cause harm.
• Identify any potential hazards in the workplace and take appropriate action if needed.

• 4 - 5 years' related experience in event management and operations within hospitality.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Highly organized and able to work under pressure & time constraints.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in German & English.
