🤖 At Palmo, we are building the software layer for city logistics - a unique delivery management system designed specifically for electric vehicle fleets managing high parcel volumes from a multitude of sources.

We are looking for an exceptional and experienced Frontend engineer to lead the development of our NextJS web app. You'll report directly to the CTO and have ownership and responsibility over key areas of our product and technology. As one of our first colleagues, you will be crucial in shaping Palmo’s success and culture. We are looking for a generalist who is excited at the prospect of mastering new technologies to solve business problems and will enjoy the thrills of fast-growing early-stage startups.

You will be responsible for the implementation of our end-user-interfaces. Currently, this is the frontend of PalmoDMS, which our clients use to steer their delivery operation.

More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

• Building high-throughput real-time web applications with NextJS and GraphQL
• Supporting the development of our React Native application on Android devices
• Be a key part of the product development process and help shape and refine the scope of ideas
• Continually look for opportunities to improve operational excellence
• Ensuring the code written is scalable, reusable, and works well across multiple applications inside our repository
• Coordinating with teams responsible for other layers of the product infrastructure

• 4+ years of professional experience working with React
• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience with mobile, ideally React Native, is a big plus
• Solid understanding of the JavaScript programming language, including ES6+ syntax and the TypeScript superset.
• Experience designing and constructing optimised enterprise-grade systems with hundreds of real-time updates per minute, from the ground up
• Experience developing frameworks and platform-independent packages
• Excellent grasp of modern state management libraries (Flux, Redux, Urql / Apollo Client)
• Testing your code is second nature to you (Jest)
• Proficient knowledge of GitHub Actions and CI/CD Pipelines
• Extra points for experience working with geospatial data, e.g. in mobility or logistics
