Engineering Manager

Optotune is looking for a talented and motivated Manufacturing Manager to join our team in Slovakia. In this dynamic role, you will lead and manage a team, ensuring effective performance management and fostering a positive work culture. This position requires up to 20% travel to multiple production sites. Join Optotune and play a key role in driving our innovative manufacturing processes.

Tasks

• Manage direct reports and their activities. This includes overall performance management, identifying needs, training and development for department team members
• Lead team to promote and demonstrate effective communication and positive culture
• Coordinate activities associated with new product introduction, transfer to different factories and launch
• Responsible for maintaining production efficiencies and team measurables through lean manufacturing principles, human resources planning, and flexibility
• Support global R&D, production planning and headquarter reporting
• Responsibility for the budget, its economical and efficient use
• Travel up to 10% to multiple production sites

Requirements

• MSc degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, biotechnology, physics or equivalent
• Management of process engineering or manufacturing engineering small - mid sized groups in complex technical environment (electronics, automotive, consumer electronics, etc.)
• Leadership ability
• Responsible for making decisions
• Knowledge in micro-assembly and semiconductor processing (MEMS)
• General understanding of production control in mass-production manufacturing
• Analytical skills
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP), Lean Management and Six Sigma
• Proficiency in English and Slovak
