Azure Cloud Architect | $30 USD/hr | Hybrid Mexico City | Contract to Hire

Introduction

Are you a senior Azure Cloud Architect with hands-on experience in hybrid cloud migrations and enterprise-scale architecture?

We're looking for a results-driven professional to design, implement, and migrate cloud architectures on Azure, working alongside Business and DevOps teams in complex hybrid environments. This is a 12-month contract-to-hire engagement — hybrid model with one day on-site per week in Mexico City.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Azure solutions in hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)
• Architect solutions across Azure Networking, Functions, AppService, Data Factory, AKS, Storage, Sentinel, Azure AD, and more
• Lead workload migrations applying 6R strategies (Rehosting, Replatforming, Refactoring…)
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, and/or ARM Templates
• Configure cloud security and governance: Azure Policy, RBAC, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel
• Build target architecture diagrams and present them to business stakeholders
• Automate infrastructure processes and collaborate with DevOps/CI-CD teams
• Mentor junior cloud engineers and contribute to team best practices

Requirements

Mandatory:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
• Proven experience in Azure Architecture and hybrid cloud environments
• Hands-on with IaC: Terraform, Bicep, and/or ARM Templates
• Strong Azure Networking knowledge: VNets, Hub-Spoke, VPN, ExpressRoute
• DevOps and CI/CD experience — infrastructure automation mindset
• Cloud Security: Azure Policy, RBAC, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel
• Experience with containers and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Advanced English — strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice to Have:

• Multi-cloud exposure, AWS experience
• FinOps and cloud cost optimization awareness
• Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, Python
• Enterprise Architecture knowledge — TOGAF
• Azure Certifications: Associate or Expert level
