(Senior) Energy Systems Backend Engineer (m/f/d) for true climate impact (Remote in DE/EU possible)

Do you have a background in energy systems modeling and computer science and want to have an impact?

We are expanding our Engineering Team and are looking for motivated and experienced Energy Systems Engineer professionals (from outstanding recent graduates with first internship experience until experienced Senior) to ensure the continuous improvement of our energy systems algorithms.

You work with other motivated colleagues of the engineering team and further develop field-leading algorithms to solve the most complex energy systems.


  • You write code improving our algorithms.
  • You work with customers who run complex energy systems.
  • You publish your scientific findings with world-leading professors in the field.
  • You shape our internal processes and will optimize them with your data-driven mindset.
  • You work closely with other departments, such as Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering.
  • You directly contribute to the company's long-term goals and have a measurable impact on Kerith's growth and success.


  • You have completed your studies in Energy Systems/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a comparable course of studies.
  • You have experience in energy systems modeling and computer science.
  • You are impact driven, have a strong interest in sustainability, and enjoy dealing with customers.
  • You are proactive, work independently, can prioritize your tasks well, and are a team player.
  • You are a strong communicator with excellent English skills.

This is what the individual steps look like:

  1. Initial chat: to get to know each other, understand the current situation, and your expectations with one of our Founders (30 min)
  2. Method interview: to test your abilities and learn more about your experience and methods with Elias (30 min).
  3. Personal meeting: to find out if we click together, whether it’s during lunch or a remote call with all founders - Elias, Joshua, and Philipp (approx. 30 min)
