About the role:
As a Finance Intern, you will be more than a number-cruncher—you'll be a problem-solver and a strategist. Under the guidance of our directors, you will engage in vital financial operations, from foundational bookkeeping to complex budgeting and forecasting, setting the stage for a significant full-time opportunity within our finance team.
Tasks
- Bookkeeping Mastery: Conduct detailed reconciliations across diverse accounts, ensuring accuracy in our financial systems.
- Financial Interactions: Take charge of invoice management and payments, maintaining clear communication channels with stakeholders.
- Inventory Intelligence: Collaborate with the supply chain team, influencing inventory management and valuation processes.
- Financial System Implementation: Employ cloud-based financial systems for streamlined accounting, online point of sale, and inventory management.
- Process Optimization: Enhance internal accounting controls and refine processes for accurate management reporting.
- Innovative Reporting and Cross-functional Collaboration: Work alongside diverse teams to integrate financial insights, reports and tools with business operations, enhancing overall performance.
- Strategic Financial Management: Offer high-level support across a range of financial transactions, from valuations to investment strategies.
Requirements
- Educational Excellence: A degree in finance or accounting, with accolades such as ACCA/CGMA/ACMA or similar certifications. Experience with e-commerce finance is a significant plus.
- Skillful Precision: Your numerical acumen and unwavering attention to detail must be matched by your agility in learning and executing tasks.
- Business Acumen: Solid understanding of various business functions including Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Supply Chain and IT infrastructure, allowing for a holistic approach to financial management.
- Trusted Advisor: Proven experience and the confidence to engage with both internal stakeholders and external partners with integrity.
- Leadership and Execution: Strong interpersonal skills to take action, supervise and build relationships, ensuring high-quality collaboration internally and externally.
- Operational Excellence: Outstanding organisational abilities with an aptitude for decision-making and proactive problem-solving.
- Technological Agility: A strong grasp of financial software, including Excel, Gsheets, Xero, and familiarity with ERPs, will be key to your success.
- Multilingual Proficiency: Fluency in English is a must, and additional language skills, especially German, are highly advantageous.
