Junior Java Developer (all genders)

e*star provides trading solutions for the European energy markets and has more than 15 years of experience in this field. The European energy sector is currently undergoing a historic transformation due to the energy transition and digitalization. As experts in this field, e*star is working on shaping and developing the European energy market of the future - together with our customers.

• Support the development of our energy trading solutions in different areas like our trading screens and back-end services (built with Java 17 and ReactJS), integration of exchange and broker systems, leveraging public and private cloud services
• Help us further optimizing our applications for our small and large customers
• Work as part of our team using agile methodologies
• Work on software design, code reviews, unit tests and documentation
• Research and prototype new products and technologies
• Deepen the knowledge you have acquired and become an active member of our team
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development and continuous delivery processes

• A suitable work permit
• A degree in the field of (business) information technology or comparable courses of study or trainings
• A passion for software development and a strong focus on the quality of the results
• First practical experience developing software with Java and corresponding tools
• Curiosity to work in the field of energy trading where low-latency requirements and highly scalable distributed systems are of great importance
• Very good knowledge of English – comparable to English level B2 or higher
• Knowledge of German is advantageous
• Willingness to take over responsibility in the team later in your career
