
We’re currently looking for an AI Solution Linux Architect & Managed Services Governance Lead to support the European Commission 🇪🇺 in the strategic lifecycle management and evolution of their critical Linux Hosting platform, with a strong focus on AI enablement.
You’ll join the C3 unit as a key technical leader, responsible for ensuring the platform’s security, reliability, and its capacity to support the most demanding high-scale AI applications. This role is highly sensitive and requires a security clearance.
Your mission is twofold: defining the AI infrastructure strategy and ensuring the operational governance of the service.
AI Infrastructure Strategy & Architecture: Define the strategy and architecture for the Linux Hosting Service, leading the design and implementation of necessary adaptations required by AI platforms at scale (a core strategic objective).
Managed Services Governance: Supervise and coordinate governance, strategy, and roadmap development with the external Managed Service Provider (MSP). Ensure quality of service, documentation, and compliance with SLAs.
Technical Expert Support: Provide expert technical assistance on RedHat Linux and related services (Kubernetes, networking, security) for troubleshooting, performance optimization, and daily operational excellence.
Project Leadership: Manage diverse technical projects related to Data Centres & Private Cloud Unit operations, ensuring compliance with IT standards and security rules.
This is a senior expert position requiring proven experience across the entire hosting stack:
Operating Systems: RedHat Enterprise Linux (mandatory expertise), Unix-based OSs.
Cloud Native/DevOps: Kubernetes Technology (Design, Deployment, Maintenance) and DevOps methodologies (Automation, CI/CD).
High-Scale Applications: Proven expertise in the roll-out and support of infrastructure (GPU optimization, storage, networking) to facilitate AI/ML platforms at scale.
Infrastructure: Datacentre Infrastructure, Networking (LAN/WAN, Security), Storage, Virtualization (VMware/KVM).
The consultant must meet all the following minimum requirements:
Experience Level: At least 10 years of experience in Datacentre Infrastructure, OS management, Network, Storage, Virtualization, and IT security.
AI Infrastructure Expertise: Mandatory 5+ years of proved experience on the delivery and supervision of IT hosting services, with a focus on rolling out infrastructure to support the delivery of AI platforms at scale.
Service Supervision: Proven experience in the supervision of External Managed Services and Data Centre Capacity Management.
Certifications: Holding or equivalent to:
Linux Certified Systems Engineer (RedHat related certifications are a strong plus, e.g., RHCE).
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Language: English fluent (spoken and written, corresponding to at least Level C1 of the CEFR).
