Lead Python Backend Engineer

Developed in close collaboration with Switzerland's largest retailer, a leading research institute and supported by the Swiss Government Technology Fund, Axino's IoT sensor technology and AI-based algorithms provides retailers with a sustainable way to ensure product safety, reduce food wastage, and reduce costs. Axino customers can remotely monitor the core temperature of food products enabling them to reduce energy usage and workload costs.

We are hiring a Lead Python Backend Engineer to be responsible for the server-side development of our new, mobile solution that will revolutionize the way retailers handle food safety and sustainability. You will develop high-performance, scalable, and enterprise-ready applications that meet our broad, global customers’ requirements. You will work alongside an international, english speaking team of engineers, product managers and designers.

• Collaborating closely with our team to implement high availability, high performance, and scalable application servers with python
• Ensuring the quality, performance, and maintainability of applications, including conducting code reviews, testing, and debugging
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
• Create and maintain software documentation
• Proactively identifying and addressing technical challenges, risks, and roadblocks that may impact the delivery of mobile app features
• Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
• Have a pragmatic, problem solving mindset
• Contribute to the success of Axino!

• 5+ years in cloud-based server-side software development
• You have strong proficiency in Python where you have built and delivered high-performance and scalable application servers.
• You enjoy working alongside software engineers, product managers and UX/UI designers working in an Agile development life-cycle
• Experience with automated testing and building, continuous integration tools along with experience working with Git or other version control tools
• Working proficiency in English
